- If you still don’t have your EU Digital Certificate, there’s no problem!
- YOU CAN TAKE A SELF-TEST UPON ARRIVAL AT THE HOTEL, AT CHECK-IN!
- According to the new rules announced on 07/08/2021 by the Portuguese Government, the presentation of a negative test or digital certificate will be required from 07/10/2021 onwards, in order to check-in at a hotel in the entire national territory.
At our essence, we welcome and take care of people, and if you don’t have the EU Digital Certificate or a negative test necessary to access tourist establishments, we can provide self-tests, which will be done at the time of check-in, in the presence of an employee.
The test costs €3 per person, which will be converted into credit for consumption at the hotel, during your stay.
If you need additional information, you can check here.
Everything will be fine, because together we are stronger!
I have a vacation scheduled at a hotel. Will I have to take a test every day?
No, just upon your arrival. Regardless of the length of your stay, you will only be asked for the test or digital certificate upon check-in. Attention: the accommodation rules apply to the entire mainland territory and not just to municipalities at high or very high risk.
What tests can I do?
The accepted tests, whether in catering or accommodation, must comply with specific rules and are subject to validation. Four types of tests can be presented: a PCR test, performed within 72 hours prior to presentation; an antigen test with a laboratory report, performed within 48 hours prior to submission; a rapid antigen test in the form of a self-test, carried out within 24 hours prior to its presentation, in the presence of a health or pharmaceutical professional who certifies that it has been carried out and its result; or a rapid antigen test in the self-test mode, carried out at the moment, at the door of the establishment you intend to attend, under verification by those responsible for these spaces.
Can I take a test at home and go to the Hotel?
No. If you choose to take a quick test, you must always do it in a pharmacy or at the Hotel Reception (check-in) for it to be considered valid.
I have a five year old child. Will they also have to take a test?
Children under the age of 12 do not have to test negative. From that age on, they will also need a negative test or a digital certificate. The same rule applies to tourist accommodation.
Who will inspect?
You will be asked for the digital certificate or negative test by someone responsible for the Hotel. In larger events, as is already happening, inspection may be carried out by security forces.
What if I don’t?
Anyone who disobeys these rules could face fines of up to 10,000 euros. Fines will be applied to those who frequent catering establishments or hotels. For customers, fines can range from 100 to 500 euros.
